Joe Serico named 2021 Haddonfield Citizen of the Year
Dr. Joseph Serico, Ed.D, a much-admired former principal and assistant superintendent in the Haddonfield School District was named the 2021 Haddonfield Citizen of the Year at the 49th Annual, and the first virtual, award presentation on Tuesday, January 26.
Mayor Neal Rochford presented the award and former Mayor Jack Tarditi was the Master of Ceremonies. Haddonfield Area Lions Club President Joyce Albrecht also participated in the ceremony, which has been hosted by the Lions Club since 1992.
Dr. Serico spent more than 20 years in the Haddonfield School District, first as principal of Haddonfield Memorial High School and then as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
In 2005, Dr. Serico joined the Rutgers University Department of Public Policy and Administration and currently serves as Lecturer and Internship Supervisor, Masters of Public Administration (MPA) Program. He also continues to be actively involved with the the Haddonfield Schools through his work with the Haddonfield Education Trust and the Haddonfield Alumni Society.
